Payment for 2010 Summer Writing Workshop

To complete your enrollment in our writing workshop, please submit your payment using the paypal button below. Even if you don’t have paypal, we still use paypal to process your credit card. After your payment has been received, you will receive information on how to access the course a few days before it begins.

Now that you have submitted your entry form, you need to proceed to payment. If you are mailing the payment, see below. Electronic payment is preferred but not required. A Paypal account is not required to send your payment electronically as Paypal can process your credit card.

All entries (US and international) that do not desire an anthology may choose the ‘no anthology’ option. Shipping domestically is $3, to Canada is $4, and all other countries is USPS flat rate $10.95.

Be sure to select the right payment option! If you’re getting the anthology, remember to choose the option that includes shipping!

Pre-pay writing contest for later submission

Please complete the following short form to ensure that we are able to match up your pre-payment with your eventual entry.

It is very important that you make sure that this information matches as CLOSE AS POSSIBLE the information on your eventual entry submission, so you might want to save your information.

There are no refunds on pre-payments! Nor will there be notices to remind you to claim your pre-paid for entry. It is your responsibility to follow through on this offer.

After you submit this form you will automatically be forwarded to paypal where you can pay by credit card, with or without a paypal account.

In the form you are asked to specify how many entries you are pre-paying. Note, after you are forwarded to paypal, you have to ‘update the cart’ to reflect the number you are pre-paying. This information is not carried forward.

Please note, even if you do not wish to have an anthology mailed to you you need to choose a postage option. US shipping is $3, Canadian is $4, and all else is USPS flat rate international $10.95.

Note about increased submission fee

You may have noticed that the fee for 2010 is $15 but for 2009 it was only $10.

Well, 2009 was our first contest, so it was in part a learning experience. One of the things we learned was that shipping more than 100 books, many of them internationally, is quite costly! We also failed to take into account advertising expenses, printing expenses, and other unanticipated expenses. These are the sort of mistakes you can afford to make once, but not twice.

The good news is that we think we’ve got it covered now and do not anticipate having to increase the submission fee in the future.

If you’re reading this before Sept. 15th, 2009, notice that we have an ‘early bird’ special to slightly ease the pain of the increase.

Shipping is included in the entry fee for authors in the US and Canada. All other countries must pay $10.95 for priority USPS mailing. You will be sent an email at the appropriate time to collect those funds.
