ACM’s 2009 Fyodor Dostoyevsky Award Winner for Third Place, JD Greening, will be publishing a collection of his short stories through Athanatos Christian Ministry’s publishing group. The book, currently untitled, is on track for release in the spring of 2010.
Executive Director Anthony Horvath says, “JD’s story, Convocation, was one that many of last year’s judges really enjoyed reading. It had an interesting premise that sparked conversation among us and from my perspective, that’s exactly what a good short story ought to do.”
The collection of short stories will include the 2009 winning story. The other stories are varied in their subject matter. Anchoring the collection is a short story about a pastor being chased around by a beluga whale.
Horvath concludes, “If you can’t imagine that kind of scenario, you’ll be glad that there are people like JD who can!”
